eMail processing is comprised of a two major system services.
  • The basic service that enables the system to receive mail is the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).

  • The services that allow access to mail by client systems are Post Office Protocol Version 3 (POP3).
eMail Set Up & Access Information
  • Email Client on your computer [e.g. Outlook or Eudora or Courier et al]
    • Incoming mail server is a POP3 server named 'mail.open-net.us'
    • Outgoing mail server is an SMTP server - normally provided by your connection provider.
      If you use our server the SMTP name is 'mail.open-net.us'
      AND we do require authentication using your incoming settings.
    • Your user name is your full email address, e.g. 'yourname@yourdomain.com'
    • Your password is your assigned password for your email account
  • Web mail access - mail.open-net.us/
    • Your user name is your full email address, e.g. 'yourname@yourdomain.com'
    • Your password is your assigned password for your email account
    • Each page has a HELP link which is excellent, please use it.
  • Email/List administration - mail.open-net.us/IAdmin/
    • Your user name is your full email address, e.g. 'yourname@yourdomain.com'
    • Your password is your assigned password for your email account
    • Each page has a HELP link which is excellent, please use it.
